Keeping Busy

It was my first day off in week. I was going to do the schedule at home, but decided that it could wait until tomorrow night.

I did finally get to looking for doctors and dentist that works with my insurance. I was so not looking forward to that. I would look it up and then paste the info to Word so I would be able to print it out and make my notes as I call around. Well, dang word would never print it…..would say “that word is preparing the background for print”….It was starting to piss me off.

I finally just started calling and tried to take notes. My handwritting sucks so I was hoping I wouldn’t screw it up. Luckily I was able to get a dentist appt. next week and one for a doctor by the end of the month. I really didn’t think I was going to be able to get into the doctor until next month, so I was pleased about that.

Dang, pc has been slow as crap. =( I can’t even surf my news sites without it taking forever.

I got laundry caught up, I really need to do the litters but I’m so burnt out over stressing on getting things done at work that I really don’t want to do crap…….lol

We got moved to new servers & looks like most of the bugs are taking care of. If there is any problem email me so I can see about having that taken care of.

Harold has started to make a bunch of nice for us, since we are heading into the height of hurricane season. He put one of 5 gal. jugs of water in our deep freezer & opened it so it won’t crack when it froze up. Blocks of ice will come in every handy if we lose power. By this time last year we were in the middle of Francis & after seeing what happened in New Orleans……we just want to make sure that we are prepared. We just need to get a battery operated latern. The oil lamp & candles gives off way too much heat.

I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I need to start on the receipts (3-4 months worth) so I can feel as if I’m making head way. I have to work early tomorrow, so I’ll be in bed early tonight. =)

The Baptist Dog

Ever mindful of the congregation, the Baptist preacher and his wife decided to get a new dog, and knew that the dog also had to be a Baptist.

They visited kennel after kennel and explained their needs.

Finally, they found a kennel whose owner assured them he had just the dog they wanted.

The owner brought the dog to meet the pastor and his wife.

“Fetch the Bible,” he commanded. The dog bounded to the bookshelf, scrutinized the books, located the Bible, and brought it to the owner.

“Now find Psalm 23,” he commanded. The dog dropped the Bible to the floor, and showing marvelous dexterity with his paws, leafed through and finding the correct passage, pointed to it with his paw. The pastor and his wife were very impressed and purchased the dog. That evening, a group of church members came to visit. The pastor and his wife began to show off the dog, having him locate several Bible verses. The visitors were very impressed. One man asked,

“Can he do regular dog tricks, too?”

“I haven’t tried yet” the pastor replied. He pointed his finger at the dog. “HEEL!” the pastor commanded. The dog immediately jumped on a chair, placed one paw on the pastor’s forehead and began to howl. The pastor looked at his wife in shock and said,

“Good Lord! He’s Pentecostal!”

Red Cross

They are needing donations.

This is where your Relief $ is being spen

I have looked all over for this story on a site, but so far the only place I find it is on CNN Headline news. Here in Florida the last 8 minutes or so of the 30 minute cycle are “Local News” and one of the stories they had was a Katrina Shelter for the refugees from AL, MS and LA outside Orlando in Groveland, FL.

They had it set up for 300 people, beds, showers, clothes, and massive amounts of catered food, and had a huge turnout of volunteers to help out.

Not one person that needed it was there.

The director was LAUGHING how well the volunteers where going to eat, and they showed the food and I must say I am impressed on the high quality of food. They also showed the new beds, new blankets and clothes and everything else and not one person showed up.

And it goes into part of my other issue I have with people in “power” like Bush and this woman in Groveland FL laughing and smirking when 1000’s are dead and 100,000 or more are homeless.

USE YOUR F***** HEAD, no one wants to see some person of “authority” smirk or listen to them chuckling when we are in a national disaster. At least fake that you care when you are on the camera.

Rice is said to have been shopping in NY buying shoes, when a woman approached her asking how she can be on vacation and shopping when a Cat 4 just destroyed NO she had the woman physically removed by security.

Yeah, we are such a great nation, I can’t tell you how proud I was watching George flying over the destruction in Air Force One on his way to a Fundraiser for the GOP in SD and then some golf. He must have had a great view in those 747 windows flying at 300MPH.

CNN had the FEMA director on tv asking him, why does CNN have better information then FEMA and why the tsunami victims had food drops 2 days after and it’s day 5 and still no food drop? All this FEMA guy could say is “we are going to”

FEMA needs to be disbanded… they simply have no clue.

The mayor of New Orleans is far more professional then I would be, I would have called Bush out with much more words bleeped out.

This is a sick sick sick mess, and I don’t know what is worse, the Cat 4 or the “help”.
