NFL owners approve six-year CBA extension

sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2360258

“…Labor peace was restored to the NFL when the owners agreed to the players’ union proposal Wednesday, extending the collective bargaining agreement for six years.

There were no further details on the agreement, including whether it includes expanded revenue sharing.

The vote was 30-2, with Buffalo and Cincinnati, two low-revenue teams, voting against it…”

Thank The Gods!!!

Natural Born Killer

I guess no matter how hard I try not to kill, it just come naturally to me, so here is this journal I will confess my deeds to all of the world.

We have 2 garden hoses, one has been stored on a hose reel and the other has just been wrapped upon itself on the ground since we moved to FL. Well the one on the reel has been leaking since we moved down here and for whatever reason I decided to switch them out today.

So I unwrap the reel and hook up the other hose which has sat on the ground for 9 months at least, I put on the nozzle and turn the water on, it works perfectly then stops, so it dawns on me there must be leaves and crap in there so I undo the nozzle and a shit load of crap comes out including a gecko lizard. It was pretty small and just sat where it landed so I touch it to see if its alive and it takes off…..whew…

Then I notice the nozzle has a tail sticking out of it and see another larger gecko is in my nozzle. I try to get him to come out, but I know better then to pull on its tail, so I nock it against the hose a few times and then figure out it is more then likely dead… and its head is caught in the moving parts of the nozzle, I try to take the nozzle apart, but no dice so I need a new nozzle and I need to bury a lizard.

After I deal with that body I decide to reel in my hose and while doing so I move the stand it is on and see the other smaller gecko bolt from under it to my foot, which at the time I was off balance and had all my weight on the other foot and was trying to get my balance and sure enough…. As soon as it bolts I get my other foot down and yep…Killed it…

I lived in FL for 1 year and 9 months and in all that time I have never gotten close to touching a gecko until today and I kill 2 in 5 mins….

Parents lock up your children tonight; there is a murderous madman on the loose…

Good News!!! maybe….

Also some good news on the Boilermaker’s home front, Jim Cheney the offensive coordinator for the past 9 years has left Purdue and joined the St Louis Rams as Off Line Coach. He has been the top of my shit list since he came to Purdue. So many times we have a so called “high power offense” and he calls weak conservative plays over and over. Short pass right, short pass right, run up the middle, punt, and repeat at the next set of downs, reminds me of the dark days of Jim Colleto’s 6 years where we played to tie, since going for a win is too costly and you may lose.

I can not begin to express the outrage of going to a game and watching the fastest WR in the Big Ten run 5 yards and stop over and over when he can out run the DB’s for the end zone if just once they had thrown it long. I know they can’t do this every play, but at least once a game would be nice and I’m not saying he is the only reason our team has sucked for the last 3 years, but he’s high on the list.

The new Offensive Coordinator at St Louis is Greg Olson, he was with Purdue for 5 years I think and left for the 49ers, but he was married to the Purdue’s woman’s track coach and she stayed at Purdue and after a year he asked Tiller to come back to Purdue and Tiller agreed, then after the next season he left Purdue unexpectedly for the Chicago Bears after telling Tiller he was at Purdue for the long haul, Tiller the calm cool guy he is, banned Olson from the entire Purdue campus and refuses to deal with him again.

When they announced Cheney was leaving, Tiller was in Ft Myers FL playing golf and the Defensive Coordinator Brock Spack said he had not yet spoken to Tiller so he has no idea who will replace Cheney, so it sounded like to me that this was totally unexpected, but I think it’s a great move, until they promoted Legg who was a offensive Coordinator at West Virginia for 2 years and VT for a year, so I am wondering how good he could be if he last only one year at VT and took a job as Off Line coach at Purdue?

Ok, everyone filled in on Purdue football now?

Cold Monday Morning

Pretty damn cold here, it is currently 35F and it feels it. I turned the heat on last night for the first time in a year, I didn’t want to turn it on, but I am just sick of feeling chilled/cold. I figure we have at least 3-4 more weeks before it starts to warm up and it should be “hot” by May.

Not much going on today, I had a unexpected project to do that they had known about for a week before they told me and I had 3 days to do it, so that ticked me off some.

So the mighty hunter and NRA member Cheney shoots another hunter, can it get any worse for a hunter? There’s never an excuse for that, total incompetence and the NRA knows that so that is a nice slap in their face to have someone they have honored shoot another. Well, shoot another on accident, had it been on purpose he would have gotten another award I think. LOL, just saw on CNN as I wrote this that the ranch owners where it happen is saying “It happens” and spinning it like this is a normal thing and no big deal and that she also has BB’s in her leg. PUH-LEASE!!!!

News is saying the North East had over 30” of snow in places. YUCK! And that is what is causing it to be cold as shit here as well the damn nor’easter winds! DAMN YOU OLD MAN WINTER! DAMN YOU TO HELL!

I just mailed off my package, it never fails when you pull into a parking lot and you see some guy going into the package place you are going to go into carrying a huge amount of packages, so it took 10 minutes longer then it should have, and he was a heavy chain smoker so I got the pleasure of smelling him the entire time.

But the good news is the city finally took away all the brush we had stacked up in our yard from last Monday so I once again have a brush free view of my front yard.

Not much else to report on…

Yard Work and the Super Bowl

Ugh I am beat. The idea was 30 mins or so, just pick up some leaves etc, turned into a 2.5 hour job, we cleaned out the leaves in the 2 bad spots around the house where the wind blows them all to, which from the looks of it, had not been done in years, then we trimmed the hell out of the trees and bushes which looks like it had not been done in years as well, so now we have a huge pile of branches that will sit there until next Monday when the yard waste is picked up.

We still have some branches and 3 stumps I want to get a chainsaw to cut them up and then we will have to give the front yard a good raking, so many years of neglect has piled up and it is killing off the grass before it has a chance to grow, I hate raking leaves with a passion and the 3 blisters I now have remind me how much I hate raking as I type, but it needs to be done. This house is a hundred times better since we moved in, not even the same property. So we are pleased with what we have done in such a short time. We have just two rooms left to paint and a chainsaw and the worse will be over with.

Pittsburgh Steelers have won it all, not much of a surprise; I was leaning toward Seattle by about 51/49, so I am not bothered really. Nice to see Jerome Bettis get a ring, I have been a fan of his since he was at Notre Dame and I am also a huge fan of Antwan Randel El. He would have been a Heisman winner had he gone to a major football school and not Indiana University. IU is a great basketball school, but not a Football School.

We had gone up to some friends in Buffalo New York for a party last year and had a really great time, we went back there in October for a Bills/Jets game and again had a really great time and was suppose to go back there this year for another Super Bowl bash, but there was a “person” who was going to be there that we do not want to be in the same room with, a total piece of crap. What some people will do/want to do to “get even” with someone when they get their feelings hurt… ugh… so not worthy of being in the group of people who was going to be there, but that is not my call. Everyone has their own choices to live by and we choose not to be around this piece of shit completely out of respect to our friends who do not deserve to have a good time ruined, so we decided to stay home this year.
