Just an area for what I’m doing on an everyday basis.

A Brief Funk & Keeping Busy

We are looking forward to this weekend. There is nothing like the Super Bowl and we may have a few friends coming over, so that makes it even better.

I went and got a facial and a message Thursday with the gift certificate Harold gave me for my birthday.  It was something I needed, a little of pampering goes a long way.

Then I’ve been busy as heck with the my online work since.  The 1st and 15th always tie me up. In this case it is a good thing.

Thursday, it has been 2 years since we lost Aurora, it’ll be 4yr in April for Randi, and I’ve just been trying to stay busy so not to think about it.  But last night my mind won’t shut off.  I hope getting it out will help, plus we have plans for the evening so that is a plus.

I know that pets no way have the involvement of kids, responsibility wise……which is why we prefer them, but it no way means that we love them any less.  I’m just wondering it is normal when it has been 2 yrs.

I’m not one who suffers from depression on a regular basis.  When I get into my funks it is because something has happened, a death, some family arguments, PMS….  It has to be “trigged”.  I know everyone suffers from depression at one time or another .  But I know it still has the stagimate that folks who have it effected them regularly won’t get treated.

On an everyday basis, I’m pretty much an optimist……I hope for the best, try to see all sides, but then I try and prepare for the worst “in case”.  Just helps so if anything happens, then I can deal with it in a much better state of mind and I know what I’m doing.

In fact, 20/20 (I think) did a report on what makes people happy and 40% of it is attitude and way of thinking.  I like that, because I think I have a good attitude overall……..I like to look at the good in people, not the bad (just be careful for it) and it doesn’t bother me like most people if I don’t have what the “Jones” have.  I will get what I want eventually, just have to work for it.  A lesson of growing up on the lower economic scale and how my folks handled it.  Others never get over their beginnings.  To me it was just a fact of life.

Well, need to get some lunch into me……I’m starving.  =)

News Flash

I have no idea where the day went.  I know I got some work done, but I doesn’t feel like it.  We had to head into city for a few errands and when you do that in the middle of day it kind of throws it off.  Luckily we have no place to be tomorrow, so I can actually attack a few goals that I want to get done……..I hope.  =)

The disturbing story behind the last great UW team — and how its legacy still casts a shadow on the Huskies

**Harold found this article.  This is the team that Purdue lost to in the Rose Bowl.  I can’t even expressed how disturbing and disgusting this info is.  =(  I will say with all the opposing team fans we have encountered, they were the worst ones.  They had no sportsmanship.  =(
Truman’s only child dies at 83

**I remember seeing her books all over the bookstores.  She always sounded like an interesting woman, especially with the history that she has seen.

Giuliani to End White House Bid, Endorse McCain

**Thankfully Giuliani is out!  Of all the GOP candidates, I prefer McCain, although I totally disagree with his stand on a woman’s choice.  =(  But I feel he has more honor then any of the others and quite frankly, the rest of them scare the hell out of me.

**This does not surprise me in the least……..are you?

Short Post

Maverick McCain gains mainstream support

**I read an article a few days ago that really explained why the rank and file GOPers don’t support McCain even though his voting record is one of the ones that is the closest to be republican. But I haven’t been able to find it.  I did find this one that has some remnants of the 1st article I found. I just wish I could find the 1st one, it really put things out there in black and white.

Started the day off a little off wacked.  Had things waiting for me when I got up and didn’t let me start on things that I was going to.

Then it was off to my errands a little later then planned.  Including getting my nails done…………they were looking rough.

I did do my good deed for the day. I was coming out of the bank when a gentleman asked to use my cell phone because he locked his keys, wallet and cell phone in his car.  He wanted to call AAA, luckily I had my AAA card on me so I was able to get a hold of them and gave him the phone to get it taken care of.   I know that, usually as a female, you shy away from strange men safety wise but it was in the bank parking lot and I like to help when I can……..so I gave it a shot.  =)  It felt nice to be able to do a little good in the world……even if was just the use of a phone.

Watched the State of the Union……..thankfully his last one. Probably write more later on that………but now it is time to head to bed.

Busy Working

We went to our friend’s place last night for his birthday party.  We didn’t really have the motivation to go, but we love him and wanted to be there…….besides we really needed to get out of the house.  =)  It was a good thing we went, we had a blast.  It was very needed.

Hell, we didn’t leave there until just have 2am……..normally we are in bed around midnight when being homebodies.  Last night we got to bed around 3am.  But we still did pretty good on not sleeping in too late, Harold did better then me……I have to admit.  =)

After I did my normal morning surfing of the news, I did a little online work and then it was time to get something done around the house.  When I decide to do the house work that makes you sweat, I like to get done before heading to the shower.  I had some stuff I needed to clean up in our spare room, got rid of a lot and got somethings reorganized.  Then I did the normal litter box attack, then got the upstairs vacuumed, trash & recycling gathering, starting the never ending battle of laundry, then on to the job that I love the results but dislike doing……..the bathrooms.

I think the reason why I don’t care of them is a little different then most.  Mine is because everytime I think I got everything done, I find that I miss something.  And with bathrooms being normally light colored and the attractor of hair it drives me nuts that it seems like I can’t get it all……..gggrrrr  The perfectionist in me…….never satisfied with the toilets…….lol

It felt good to work up a sweat.  I was concentrating so hard on getting everything done that I lost track of time and next thing I know it is 3pm.  So I jumped in the shower finally and my stomach really starts to rumble……..I forgot about lunch, totally.  I couldn’t get out the shower fast enough to get some food.  =)

Then it was on to some lite online work and we watched a few more episodes of BattleStar Galactic from the 1st season.  When it started Harold really enjoyed watching it, I saw bits and pieces of it…….it looked good.  But I saw that it was so involved and with my day job, online work, the shows we were already watching, there was no way that I had time to get into it.  Now I can take the time……..a little benefit working at home.

I’m enjoying them, they are intense, but I’m not sure about that blonde cyclone.  She just really, really annoys me when her character is on. She is just so “inappropriate” (for lack of a better word) on how she acts all the time.  I get that the Dr is ruled by his desires and she holds the strings………..but it is like all she knows is sex…….no matter where that cyclone is.  I guess when I’m watching a drama/sci fi I don’t mind sex part of the story line, as accents………but sometimes I feel as if I’m watching a skin flick on cinemax when she is in a scene, it is annoying to me.  Everything else, I love.

We are annoyed that This Week did not record…and after the results of South Carolina…..gggggrrr  Looks like we’ll be watching the Obama video and the Round Table online.

I’m not surprise that Obama won SC, I am stunned by how much. I expected a much closer race.  I’m extremely disappointed in the tactics that Bill Clinton is engaging in.   We will see if it is causes more problems in the democratic party.  I’m curious to see what is going to happen on Feb 5th Super Tuesday.  On one hand I don’t want it to be decided with that date, because that takes away the voices from voters in states that vote later……which brings up that fact that the primary system sucks and needs to be reworked.  But then I almost wish it will be decided because the tactics are ugly are taking away from the issues.  The dems really need to be united for November.

We’ll see if they finally get their act together.

A Wet Day………..Normal =)

Yesterday was sunny, very clear and beautiful, of course, I woke up not feeling well. =( My head was just horrible feeling. I think it was because I did a quick run to the store Thursday evening and didn’t wear a hat. It was much chillier and windier, so that wasn’t a smart thing to do. So I didn’t go for my walk. =(

Today I feel much better, but it is rainy. Which really doesn’t make that much of a difference for walking, but when I go walking I like to bring a camera and see what I can catch. I don’t have that good of an eye to catch things when it is grey out.

I do think my break from the walk has helped my shins. Harold’s mom says that her shins hurt when she walks faster then normal, so I think it mine my be caused by that and the concrete of the sidewalks.

I was feeling a little better when I went to check the mail. So I grabbed Harold’s camera to see if I could get better pictures. They came out very well, I just need to remember to grab the zoom next time. =)

Mountains are so big, that the only thing that changes is the stuff in front of them. So it better much ends up being the same picture of it even though you moved a 100 ft to the left. In this set I left the pictures as they were originally taken and then cropped them, so the focus is more on the peak. The picture of the housing is just to show how far we live from where I took the pictures. We are about 500ft from it.

Mt. Hood

Last German WWI veteran dies at 107

**This is just sad how he was not even noticed. Then his death was overshadowed by the story of how Germans treat their history. But it is hard to imagine how to handle a history such as Germany’s. At the same time the majority of Americans ignore or do not wish to be educated about what we as a country did to the Native Americans or African Americans.
