Happy Veterans Day

Here are some articles to help to tell some of the stories of some of our Veterans.

Young Warriors: Some Veterans Lied About Their Ages

**Unless something drastic happens, it is no longer as easy to enlist when not of age. It is amazing what some of them did at that age.

This time, vets return to welcome

**At least we learned something from ‘Nam even though our “fearless” Commander in Chief never did.

Study: 1 Out of 4 Homeless Are Veterans

**If anyone is surprised by this, they have been living under a rock for the last 20+ years. It was like this in the 80s, it is great to see that our government has figured out how to treat our veterans so honorably……gggrrr Just like Regan, Bush and Cheney don’t care………..but then they never served.

Vietnam Memorial turning 25 as artifacts grow

** I wasn’t even 10 when they finished this, but in ’81 my family had made a trip to DC and I have faint remembered impressions of the issues that people where having with it. And how hard the ‘Nam vets fought for it. Now it is one of the most visited memorials in DC.

Crosses Bear Honor

**That is one heck of a project for a 15yr old to undertake.

New wars, old nightmares

90 years of battlefield photos

Make sure you thank a Vet today. I’m proud of my Veterans…..my husband, my dad, my late uncle and my late grandpa.

Wasted Day & News Flash

Today was a waste on getting things done……..icks. We did get our back tires on the truck done finally.  Problem is that Sears is about 30+min away, then there is 2 hrs of walking around the mall as we wait for it, then another 30+min back.  Plus a stop at Best Buy to return some ear phones that didn’t work too well in staying in my ears for another pair.  Which I’m going to return…..ggrrr  Broke down and ordered what I really wanted online. I just didn’t want to wait for them to get here……….gggrrr

We wanted to get the house cleaned up.  I had just vacuumed everything last week but the Reggie decided to go on a shedding spree…….all over.  Nothing like having dark tuffs of fur on beige carpet…….yuck. But our 8yr hoover wasn’t working as well as it has in the past.  Just getting old.  So we had to get another and broke down and got us a Dyson DC17.  We got tons of fur up with that.  May need to use it on our cats…………lol

Between all that and laundry………..nothing else really got done.  =(  And I was going to bake some cookies…..I have a few errands to do tomorrow and then I’m going to do that…….while trying to get everything else caught up.  I have a ton of messages that I’ve been trying to get to for the last few days but have been failing miserably.

Tom Brokaw explores the turbulent ’60s

**This was a cool look into what the older generation of women had to go through and the changes that they faced.  The majority of today’s women take for granted the choices that they have.  =(

Father of boy at center of foster fight wants his son to stay in Oregon

**This is a case gone amuck!!!  What a bunch of morons!  The boy should stay here, it is pretty bad that the father feels he should stay where he is.

Semi-Productive Day

Sunday I had a headache all day. Mostly from a kink in my neck and encourage by my sinuses…….it sucked. I could not focus to save my life.

Watched the big game. I know you have to lose sometime, but I really wanted the Colts to win. At least they didn’t lose to some mediocre team. I was a wreck the whole game.

Today was suppose to be a productive day. Started out that way. With the fall back hour, we are getting up closer to the time we originally wanted without using an alarm clock……about 8-8:30am. So we get our normal AM surfing out of the way and then try to get some work done.

I was making some good head way into the nightmare that is our receipt pile. I could see the end of the tunnel by the end of the day for it.

Well, we are still having connection/network issues. So Harold order us switch and another “plug” so we can hardwire all the computers and hope that we don’t lose connection anymore. The parts got delivered so he went to work on it. Of course, something that should be so simple takes up the whole the afternoon, tons of frustration that should’ve never been and another call to comcast….ggrrr Then found out that we got the wrong item……….so it was on to the store. It finally is working. We aren’t going to use the wireless for a few days to make sure we don’t get knocked off online…….just another thing to eliminate.

So far the tires we ordered for the truck are not in. So probably won’t be getting them done until Wed.

I really need to finish up my work tomorrow so I can get focused on other things.

Man, she was just so incredible in the ring, and she was still taking the hard bumps well into her 80’s.

Thanks for the great memories Moolah… You will be missed.

Navy 46 – Notre Dame 44 Final 3OT

Weise could have won it with :20 left in the 4th, as they was well within FG range and he went for the first down instead of the win and out of nowhere Superman flies in and sacks the QB.

Seriously, watch the replay on ESPN tonight, it was Superman and he flew in to make the sack.

First time in 43 YEARS Navy has beat ND…. since 1963…. All I can say is….
