Just an area for what I’m doing on an everyday basis.

Another Day

For my day off, I had one of those days were you don’t get the time to get what you wanted done, cuz the one thing you got done took a heck of a lot longer then it was suppose to do. =( Lets just say I didn’t get to enjoy my day off & it was beautiful out. =(

Lets hope today goes better, even if I’m taking off for work.

Today is Harold & my 12 anniversity to getting together……….going on 13yrs now….wow, time has flown.

Dang!!

Harold picked “Batman Begins” the other day & we just got done watching it……….Dang!! It was great! The best of all the Batman movies. Really developed the Bruce Wayne character.

Batman is my favorite of “super hero” characters. Cuz he is human, his mind is his power. I’ve always loved the dark, dangerous, but good guy characters & he is the ultimate example of it.

I so hope that, if they make another, that they maintain the diginity of the development of the characters. Maybe that they learned after they screwed up that last Batmans and with Xmen & Spiderman doing great by sticking with the true developement that they won’t mess with this one.

One can only hope. =)

A Hurricane Day Off

Well……….we just had a few power bumps and seemed to have lost internet connection…..at least it is….it is on and off. Our pool looks to have a bunch of tree debris on the bottom of it. We pulled the truck into the garage to protect it, but our luck has other ideas. The attic cover (a piece of dry wall) fell on to my truck and busted. It doesn’t look that there was any damage just the irony of it.

The eye is now in the Atlantic, we have about 1-2hr left of it. A friend of ours lives in the Ft. Lauderdale area and said it was the worst she has seen. She has her generator going.

We had a tornado touch down across town. Found out it was in my boss’ and my other manager’s complex that it hit. They are all right, but it jarred the window seals so now they are leaking. =(

I should be finding something to do more productive….laundry, cleaning, resizing pics…..something………but I just don’t quite feel like it.

We were going to get some more stuff so we could paint the master bath & put a new toilet in there, but Wilma had other ideas.

Weekend Update

**Written up yesterday.

Another entry, on another plane. We are the final leg of our trip, flight wise, once we get on the ground, we then only have about a 10-15minute drive home. We were able to fly out at our local airport instead of having to drive to Orlando, so that was nice.

It never fails; we always get the kid near us. He is about 4-5 area, not too bad, but is continuously trying to get his dad’s attention, with the daddy….daddy thing, while his dad tries to have a conversation.

We had a great weekend! It was our 1st tailgating and our 1st time at a NFL game. It was windy, chilly and overcast for game day but we had a fire going, a good group of people to hang with, and Karen had lots of food. That woman likes to feed people that is for sure. =)

One thing I learned, is that you don’t want to drive against Karen. We got to the game parking lot 2 hours before it opened and there were folks already there. Well, Karen wants her spot. They have been tailgating in the same spot for over 3yrs (at least, I think). When she paid the attendant, she was off and made sure we got there before anyone else. We ended up leaving Harold and her husband, Mark, behind with the rest of the guys…………lol

When it was time we made our way up to the stadium. They have season tickets in the Jim Kelly section, where you have your own bathrooms, food area and even heated seats….lol If it wasn’t Buffalo, I would say that they don’t know how to attend a real game…..lol But they did without those for years, so they know how.

The Bills won (if you were paying attention) and it was a good game. It was different at an NFL game, the angle, the whole set up. And the cheerleaders didn’t add much to it, just a bunch of pretty girls strutting their stuff. The college cheerleaders have the basket tosses and seem to add more in the way of spirit. There seems to be more “spirit” at a college game, but I don’t know if it was also the part of the stadium we were in. Cuz the lower areas got pretty rowdy & we saw more fights break out then we ever saw at a game.

After the game we went back to tail gating for about an hour or so, just to wait out the traffic leaving the parking lot. Then we went back to the house and watched some more football….lol

Monday, Mark was nice enough to take us to Niagara Falls. They were gorgeous and got some really good pictures. It was awe inspiring seeing the power of Mother Nature and what it can do.

One thing I’ve noticed the few times we’ve visited Canada is that they really know how to keep the green space. They keep it looking good and work with nature. They don’t just rip it all up and put concrete down everywhere. But the area was a lot more commercial with the casinos. I don’t see how that makes it the romantic get away that they always led you to believe that it is.

When we got back we chilled for a bit before heading to dinner. Then it was on to Monday Night Football! =) We got to watch the Colts win and see Harrison and Manning set a new record. What more could you ask for?? Actually the only thing more I could’ve ask for, was to have won this week in my FFL. =) But it was still all good.

Today we just chilled around the house after packing everything up. I don’t work until tomorrow night, so that gives me time to get the laundry going. I was able to actually keep up with things this weekend better then if I had been at home. The only thing I couldn’t do during the down time was resize & gallery up all our pictures. We didn’t have time to load dreamweaver, photoshop, name wizard & set up my FTP settings onto my lap top. Harold will be doing that tomorrow.

Looks like we may be starting our descent soon…almost home. I can’t wait, I miss our babies, even though I loved playing with our friends’ dog & cat. =)

More Update

I forgot to mention that when Cheryl came back from seminar she had a book for me. A signed copy of “1776” by David McCullough and cd audio book of it! I’ve been wanting to get that book. I ready 2 other books of his, “Truman” & “John Adams”, and they were both great. She got to see him speak & said he was good. I wish I could’ve been there for that. It was so cool of her to get that for me…..grin

I was talking about all the projects we had to get done with Cheryl being gone. It was the week of our biggest action alley reset…the one for the holidays. I was extremely proud that I was able to get that done, without have the payroll to have the schedule I should’ve had, and I also got the overstock done, shipment sorted and a few other things organized.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to the shipment within the time frame that is required, but when we were finally able to get to it, we made a good dent. We normally get about 2200-2500 pieces (about 2-3 pallets), but with the holiday stuff it as been about 3500 pieces, this week was 4500 (5 pallets). We had a huge mountain of totes. Luckily we have a few strong shipment folks that kept us from drowning.

Cheryl stopped in on her only day off, just to brief me about the seminar since I had the weekend off. We ended up totally moving around action alley & I have to say it looks much better.

I have a long way to go on setting my laptop exactly the way I want it. But it is going much, much smoother then the last time we reformatted. It is handling so differently with this new hard drive that I’m convinced that Harold is right about me having a bad hard drive to begin with.

I’m still trying to get all my email accounts set up. I tried to email dad and it came back saying that the server rejected his addy? So I’m going to set up one of my other accounts and see if it works from there.
