We flew to Anchorage, Alaska for a friends wedding in March 2001. Pauline lived in Fairbanks for 4 years from 1985 to 1989 so this was somewhat of a returning home visit for her but this was my first time.
It will not be the last.
Unfortunately we put too much faith in our new Panoramic camera (film) and we was totally disappointed with the results. Of the multiple rolls of film we used we had about 2 “decent” at best, pictures. These few pictures were taken with our first digital camera.
Needless to say, we WILL return to Alaska if for no other reason then to take some pictures!
If not 2014, 2015 for sure. And this time, we will have multiple camera’s.
We stayed in Anchorage, drove down to Seward, visited the Sea Center (LOVED IT!) and we visited what we could of Kenai Fjords National Park as well as the Anchorage zoo and downtown Anchorage itself, which for a city is really pretty cool.

The Purdue Boilermaker’s won a co share of the Big Ten Championship and played in the 2001 Rose Bowl vs the Washington Huskies on January 1, 2001 at Pasadena, CA.
Drew Brees was our Quarterback and even though we lost the game, it was a fun time of games and traveling to the away games and of course, the Grand Daddy of Them All… The Rose Bowl.
We know we was very lucky to be season ticket holders during the Tiller/Brees era of Purdue Football. Something we miss.

This is from June/July 1999 we wanted to do something different, prior to this we would go to Minnesota or Washington but we wanted to see Key West, so we flew into Miami and rented a car and drove to Key West for a 5 days or so and then spent another 2 days in the Homestead, FL areas looking around Everglades National Park as well as a Alligator farm and the Coral Castle.
