Just my rants, raves & reflections on things that happen around the world.

The Happenings

I actually got a few things done today. Both Harold & myself got some more stuff packed, we are kind of in the lost stage. We are still going to be here until Monday so we want to get things packed but at the same time we still are living here….so we are in limbo. I have a 2 boxes in our closet, one for the remaining clothes & the other for the rest of the bathroom. Harold started in on some of our office electronic stuff.

I was going to go into my undergarment frustration thing, but I won’t for dad……..grin Love ya!

I finally sent off my letters to Aunt Eveyln, Ma Weaver & Melinda. I send them copies of my blog entries and I like to write something up before. Well, it has been since March that I’ve done that. =( It is amazing how quickly time flies when working & I have sent off cards, but not the letters. Since we are moving next week, I really wanted to make sure that they had our new address. Each letter was about 20 pages, so I made sure to print them up both front & back…they will be receiving a small book……….grin

I figured out how to add Sandi so she can post on my blog & share with the rest of the family. So if mom & dad would like to, I can add you also. =) Now she just needs to figure out why her pc isn’t letting her in, since I was able to get in…….lol

When I got home from work yesterday, I got home later then I was suppose to, nothing unusual there, but it dawned on me with all the work & rushing to get things done, I’m the happiest I’ve been since I started working at Books-A-Million. Oh yes, the company really does things & has policies that are frustrating and beyond logic, but every company has that. But it the management team, especially with the leadership of our new DM and the over all great crew we have (specially the long timers) that has really made my job so enjoyable. I’m just loving it, even with the frustration that comes with it. I know, I’m weird….lol

This country is going downhill on our civil rights…..ggrrr

The Search Is On….

Harold started our search for a new place to live. I’m so not looking forward to this whole process….the looking, that scams on the application fees….it is crazy. At lest in Indiana you can start your looking months in advance, can’t do that here. Has to be 2-4 weeks before you need a place & that stresses us out big time. We like to have ourselves situtated ASAP so we know what is going on & how to prepare. Doesn’t help that we HATE moving.

We did look at a very nice duplex it has 3 bedrooms, screened in porch and kind of a courtyard area at the front door. It is really nice & roomy, even enough room to have my dinning room table up in the kitchen. But we shouldn’t even count on it until we get through the process. I just hope we find something soon so we don’t have to stress it.

On a political note: Cheney’s Betrayal
**I love the fact that ones who are suppose to protect the Constitution and the checks & balances put forth by our founding fathers are destroying the basic elements of our country. That is sad. =(

A Rambling Day……..

I got a day off today. We went for a bike ride this morning, haven’t done that for a few weeks….I’m afraid to think how long it has been. I know when I work evenings it is the perfect schedule for us to get a ride in that day, but since we got the new blog I’ve really wanted to focus on getting it set the way I want it to be.

We did get out and do a few errands. I then spent the rest of the afternoon working on emails. Thought I had them all done but found a few that got caught in my spam filter. I love the spam filter, but I don’t understand why it would catch the same email address that it let through a couple of weeks ago & I had responded to.

I have to work early the next few days so I took a PM & I’m going to be headed to bed here soon…….actually I’m getting kind of loopy right now……….lol……night

Day of Reflections

We finally got news on who our GM will be, just don’t know when they’ll be starting since they are coming from across the state. Just knowing that we got one is a stress reliever. We really need some more managers in there at work. Our DM will be in this Friday, so I’m going to corner him with questions….grin

Yesterday was the 10th Anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing If you’ve never been to the site, it is a must. But you will have take a lot of kleenex. I can’t even write about with out choking up so that is all I’m going to say on that.

Today is the Anniversary of 1999 Columbine Shootings I remember volunteering at the shelter when that happened & we all stopped in stunned silence to watch it on TV.

It doesn’t help that Hilter was born on this date. =(

So it is a day of reflections on world events.
