Cold Monday Morning

Pretty damn cold here, it is currently 35F and it feels it. I turned the heat on last night for the first time in a year, I didn’t want to turn it on, but I am just sick of feeling chilled/cold. I figure we have at least 3-4 more weeks before it starts to warm up and it should be “hot” by May.

Not much going on today, I had a unexpected project to do that they had known about for a week before they told me and I had 3 days to do it, so that ticked me off some.

So the mighty hunter and NRA member Cheney shoots another hunter, can it get any worse for a hunter? There’s never an excuse for that, total incompetence and the NRA knows that so that is a nice slap in their face to have someone they have honored shoot another. Well, shoot another on accident, had it been on purpose he would have gotten another award I think. LOL, just saw on CNN as I wrote this that the ranch owners where it happen is saying “It happens” and spinning it like this is a normal thing and no big deal and that she also has BB’s in her leg. PUH-LEASE!!!!

News is saying the North East had over 30” of snow in places. YUCK! And that is what is causing it to be cold as shit here as well the damn nor’easter winds! DAMN YOU OLD MAN WINTER! DAMN YOU TO HELL!

I just mailed off my package, it never fails when you pull into a parking lot and you see some guy going into the package place you are going to go into carrying a huge amount of packages, so it took 10 minutes longer then it should have, and he was a heavy chain smoker so I got the pleasure of smelling him the entire time.

But the good news is the city finally took away all the brush we had stacked up in our yard from last Monday so I once again have a brush free view of my front yard.

Not much else to report on…

Silly Stuff….

At 85 years of age, Wally married Lou Anne, a lovely 25-year-old. Since her new husband is so old, Lou Anne decides that after their wedding she and Wally should have separate bedrooms, because she is concerned that her new but aged husband may overexert himself if they spend the entire night together.

After the wedding festivities Lou Anne prepares herself for bed and the expected “knock” on the door. Sure enough the knock comes, the door opens and there is Wally, her 85-year-old groom, ready for action. They unite as one. All goes well, Wally takes leave of his bride, and she prepares to go to sleep.

After a few minutes, Lou Anne hears another knock on her bedroom door, and it’s Wally. Again he is ready for more “action”. Somewhat surprised, Lou Anne consents for more coupling. When the newlyweds are done, Wally kisses his bride, bids her a fond goodnight and leaves.

She is set to go to sleep again, but, aha you guessed it – Wally is back again, rapping on the door, and is as fresh as a 25-year-old, ready for more “action”. And, once again they enjoy each other. As Wally gets set to leave, his young bride says to him, “I am thoroughly impressed that at your age you can perform so well and so often. I have been with guys less than a third of your age who were only good once. You are truly a great lover.”

Wally, somewhat embarrassed, turns to Lou Anne and says, “You mean I was here already?”

The moral of the story: Senior moments have their advantages.

Sunday

We are watching Honor Deferred from the History Channel.

**sidebar***When I see how people are mistreated because of prejudices it gets my blood boiling. I don’t understand how people can do that to other humans and still consider themselves human. I keep hoping that as a people we have progressed past that but then you see how the frantics are terriorizing people world wide and know that we have not.

I love learning history and I’m enjoying what I’m learning from this show, but it is depressing that shows like this are not shown year round. They only bring them out during Black History month. They should not need a month, it should be part of the norm to have these stories out regardless of the month. We haven’t come as far as many folks like to tell themselves.

We broke down and got ourselves a new printer. Our other one was about 5 years old and sharp never updated the drivers when XP came out. So to get my laptop to recognize it I would have to unplug everything and start everything in the particular order to get it to work. The one we got is a Brother-MFC-420cn. What is really cool is that it isn’t hooked to either of our pcs. We have it hooked up to our wireless router and through our wireless network, able to print from either one of our pcs. =)

Well, I was a little more productive then yesterday. I got some emails done, laundry, balanced the check book, paid some bills and started some evals. I also talked to mom & dad & my best friend today, so that was cool.

Mind Adrift

I haven’t had much on my mind to post. My mind has been adrift. I’ve let work keep me busy and distracted. Some days are better then others. Maybe I’ll feel better as soon as we get Aurora’s ashes.

I have projects and taxes that I need to get to, but haven’t been able to focus.

We were supposed to meet up with friends last night, but they cancelled since he was sick. May meet them next week.

I haven’t done much today…………kind of a wash. =(
