46th Birthday

All in all, not a bad birthday. Slept in and almost got 8hrs, won’t be getting that tonight…..need to get back on my sleeping pattern.

I will be getting up real early tomorrow and hit the gym. Skipped it today….so I guess I’m not getting 5 days this week.

We went and saw Star Wars – The Rise of Skywalker, it was worth dealing with the movie theater…..just dawn on me, new record, 2 new movies in one year….we are usually lucky to go to a one movie every 2….LOL

Went and upgraded our iphones…badly needed. And tried a Mediterranean Grill for gyros….not quit Greek, but very good. Overloaded with lamb….wow

Got tomorrow off…..then back to work Saturday….yuck….lol

A Day Off

Well, I did lay down…..don’t think I slept….at least my fitbit states I didn’t and I don’t feel like I slept. But I did feel better ?

Put on xmas music on, vacuumed, did laundry, clean out all the boxes piling up, took trash out and somehow missed my torn up old boots….eye roll….and got things straightened around the house. Then everytime I sat down fought the furry monster from lap……she would run to me like crazy and push her way on me. Wasn’t wearing jeans, so now I have holes all in my legs….crazy monster….lol

Doesn’t sounds like much, but it sure took up my day…..

On my next set of days I need to go through my plastic file storage….they need to be cleaned out and they are broken. Trying to decide if I should just use cardboard file storage, but those can get damp. I think for now, I’ll just get copy paper boxes at work to repack until I really decide whether or not I want to spend the $ on the plastic file storage.

Turned on TV for the first time all day….just in time for the news. And waiting for hubby to get home

Pauline’s Happenings

Got up early to get my workout in before my conference call and then on to errands….well….got my workout in, haven’t done that bad in weeks, but still got it in.

During my workout, get a text, conference call canceled…YES!! Frees me up. ??

As I’m in the shower, thinking of what I need to get done today, and it is only one stop….well, I have a store meeting Sunday and I’ll be going by the store on the way home, so why don’t I do that and stay home today??

Yeah! It is a win! No conference call, no errands….I can take a nap and get things done around the house if I feel up to it.

Currently have a very warm, purring ball of monster on my lap, vegging on surfing, getting ready to put clothes away and then maybe take a nap, I only got just over 5hrs of sleep and was up by 0230.

No idea what I’m doing the rest of the day and I’m very pleased with that.

No Super Bowl This Year

For the first time in my memory of being home on a Super Bowl Sunday, I’m not watching the game.

I really want LA to take down New England, but I’m pissed at the #NFL and how the #NFC Championship was stolen from the #Saints. The game was over if that call had been made.

I’m pissed at the #NFL for screwing over Brees as #MVP….2nd time they have done it…..they just can’t get over that he leads the players union and has stood up to them.

The #NFL is losing someone who has been fan from her father’s knee since the Colts were in Baltimore and who use to watch Tom Laundry coach the Cowboys in the early 80s.

Blood Work

Had blood drawn when at the doctor last week. Got my test results.

My 3 months of blood sugar is in the pre-diabetic area. With my great-grandmother & grandmother having it….no surprise….sadly.

Which is why I go to the gym but haven’t been very good on avoiding and monitoring my sweet intake the last few months, especially at work. Doesn’t help I have my father’s sweet tooth….eye roll

Good news is that my goal of wanting to lose 30 more pounds will address both my blood sugar and my blood pressure. And I’ve already been working on that.

There is no way I can give up my pasta, sweets, breads….just need to cut it all back. Get my pasta in whole grain, cut back on my baked potatoes…need to pick up long grain rice as a sub.

I told them right off the bat that I’m not giving any of that up, especially my chocolate. I will cut back and monitor it….because what is the point of living if you can’t enjoy the pleasurable things in life?

Oh yeah, the sucky part is we both need to cut back on all sorts meat… not just red meat.

Totally not use to having a meal without it.

So what it comes down to is that I really need to work on it my food monitoring.

I was 40 pounds lighter 6yrs ago and that was after doing the same thing….counting calories, cutting my sugar intake down and going to the gym. I can do it again, just a lot harder when you get past 40.
