1st Day of the Year

I worked today. We were down a person……actually 2 since one of our folks was sick from drinking last night & ran to the bathroom a lot………..lol She did not look good. But she is young and learning. So I found her something to do closer to the bathrooms so she didn’t have far to go.

Our other person was missing in action. The last anyone had heard from him was @ 09:30 when dropping off a friend after partying all night. We found out much later that on his way home to shower and change for work he got pulled over for a messed up tail light. Well, his clothes smelled of liquor from drinks being knocked him the night before so of course it went down hill from there. His alchol level was so low that he was sober (hadn’t had a drink in hours & had sleep since then), but he is under age so he got busted for that. Then they wouldn’t let him make a 2nd call to let us know where he was at. I’m almost happy to hear what happened to him, cuz towards the end I was thinking the worst….. =(

Unfortunately cuz of all that we didn’t get as much done as I wanted to today, but we didn’t do too bad considering.

Here are a few cool articles :
A bicycle built for seeing America

**What an experience that would be.

Florida weirdness spawns three books
**I thought this state was weird before we moved here. You’re always hearing something weird in the news about the people.

Need to head to bed……have an extremely early morning tomorrow….then I need to get my poor nails done…..they are looking rough…yuck.

1/1/06

Pretty ho hum so far. We stayed home and watched the NFL and were in bed at 11:30pm watching “Blazing Saddles” and then flipped it over to ABC and watched the ball drop, wow Dick Clark looks/sounds rough, but then after a massive stroke and being old as dirt, that should not be a surprise. Anyway, after the ball dropped we kissed each other and watched more of “Blazing Saddles” and started to fall asleep so lights out at 12:30am, we are so exciting.

Today was perfect, the kind of weather I wanted to live in Florida for, January 1 and 79F, almost jumped in the pool. The only regret I have with this house is no heated pool, I would think it would be great to swim in 80F water and not the 68F to 70F that is the normal temperature of the water this time of year, in the summer the water gets to a 95F with all the sun, it sounds hot, but it actually feels great.

Today is not only the last day of the regular season in the NFL, but it is also the Finals of our Fantasy Football Leagues. I ran 3 this year made the playoffs in all 3 and the finals in one, where I am currently down 20 and it’s looking unlikely I will make a comeback. Pauline is also in the Finals in another league and she is also down 20, but has a great chance to getting 20+ as she has a RB, TE and D still yet to play, so I am rooting for her to pull it out. I like FFL, but at the same time I am getting burned out and hate the trash talk, it’s one thing to talk smack, it’s another to talk crap, and I have never been much of a crap talker, I just don’t think it’s needed. Anyway, I am not sure at this point I will do FFL next, but then you never know.

*sigh…. My comeback in FFL is looking more and more unlikely, no championship for me this year, but there is always next year…. Maybe.
