2006………Like Harold stated, on a personal note it started out pretty rough. =(
We lost Aurora. It took awhile to get out of my funk over it. Sometimes if I see the boy out of the corner of my eye, in one her favorite locations I think it is Aurora. I miss her. But I do have her picture on my desk with her ashes.
It started rough at work. I got a new boss. We butted heads a lot. It took awhile before we got it worked out. I think what helped is that I realized that even though I was an assistant I had pretty much ran the store and now I wasn’t in charge anymore so we were butting heads over that. We both want the best for the store and have the same goals, but we clashed on how to go about it. I think a lot had to do with that we are both control freaks and workaholics.  It drove me nuts because I love working as a team and we couldn’t seem to do it. Now I just do what I can, add my thoughts, I care but try not to stress it any more (life is just too short) and do my best to do it the way she wants because in the end it is her responsibility. I’m proud on how far we’ve come.
My family came down for a visit. I loved seeing them! We got the kids for a few weeks. It was too long for the kids and Harold. Especially since I had to work and couldn’t be home to help as much. I try to remember the happy memories of them being here and not the rough ones. I just hope that they did come away with some good memories and some learning experiences. I do miss them.
We had a great exploring vacation in the Pacific Northwest and decided where we were going to move to. We can’t wait to get to Portland and get settled in.
I got to see Jessie this year and go to a Purdue game. That was awesome! (even though we lost.)
Business wise, we cut our ties with someone we can no longer do business with due to their hypocrisy and lies. We are just so glad that it is over.
We made some excellent new connections, business wise. We had a very productive business trip where we learned a lot.
I think I got the majority of what happened this year. 2007 is looking both very promising and very stressful. I have my fingers crossed. =)
