2nd Day of the New Year

Yesterday was pretty productive. I got caught up on a ton of messages (which included emails, private, LJ and about 4 other boards), did laundry, dishes, a year in review blog entry and balanced the checkbooks. When I look back at the list it doesn’t seem like much, but the messages and boards took up a good portion of the time.

I need to get the pics from the Champs Bowl edited. I want to add a couple of them to my IPod…….grin Some of them came out blurry. =(

It is time for a new “party” camera. I hope to get one by mid February. I’m looking at this one :  Olympus Stylus 740

I want something small enough to fit in a pocket without being too tiny for us to handle, a simple point and shoot that gives quality pictures and doesn’t take forever to charge up due to the flash. I’ll be giving my old one to my mom. It is similar to hers. She can decide which one she wants to use and give the other to my niece. She is going to be 11 and that is about the age that I started to take pictures.

I know that there was something I wanted to do tonight when I got home, but for the life of me I can’t remember what…………I worked all day, had my mind on work at home, then an hour before I get just lose my energy and thoughts………sad……..oh fudge, I think I’ll make up my to do list for my days off.

2006 in Review

2006………Like Harold stated, on a personal note it started out pretty rough.  =(

We lost Aurora.  It took awhile to get out of my funk over it.  Sometimes if I see the boy out of the corner of my eye, in one her favorite locations I think it is Aurora.  I miss her.  But I do have her picture on my desk with her ashes.

It started rough at work.  I got a new boss.  We butted heads a lot.  It took awhile before we got it worked out.  I think what helped is that I realized that even though I was an assistant I had pretty much ran the store and now I wasn’t in charge anymore so we were butting heads over that.  We both want the best for the store and have the same goals, but we clashed on how to go about it.  I think a lot had to do with that we are both control freaks and workaholics.   It drove me nuts because I love working as a team and we couldn’t seem to do it.  Now I just do what I can, add my thoughts, I care but try not to stress it any more (life is just too short) and do my best to do it the way she wants because in the end it is her responsibility.  I’m proud on how far we’ve come.

My family came down for a visit.  I loved seeing them!  We got the kids for a few weeks.  It was too long for the kids and Harold.  Especially since I had to work and couldn’t be home to help as much.  I try to remember the happy memories of them being here and not the rough ones.  I just hope that they did come away with some good memories and some learning experiences.  I do miss them.

We had a great exploring vacation in the Pacific Northwest and decided where we were going to move to.  We can’t wait to get to Portland and get settled in.

I got to see Jessie this year and go to a Purdue game.  That was awesome!  (even though we lost.)

Business wise, we cut our ties with someone we can no longer do business with due to their hypocrisy and lies.  We are just so glad that it is over.

We made some excellent new connections, business wise.  We had a very productive business trip where we learned a lot.

I think I got the majority of what happened this year.  2007 is looking both very promising and very stressful.  I have my fingers crossed.  =)

2007

Not much happening here last night, we decided not to go out and had a good grilled steak and some sangria while we watched Scrubs all night and just took a relaxed approach to it all. We watched Dick Clark miscount down the ball and then went back to Scrubs.

We just started 2007 and all I can think of is June, August and September.

Right now we are watching the “Granddaddy of them all” The Rose Bowl and Michigan just recovered a USC fumble, GO BLUE!

We took the trimmers to Reggie today, he takes it better then I expected, but yes I am bleeding, poor kitty. But he is not the one cleaning up himself or the floors, so it’s a small sacrifice to be made.

Hope no one is fighting too big of a hangover today and I hope to be able to see most if not all of you face to face soon.

Happy New Years!!!

I hope everyone had a great & safe New Years!

I have the day off, so I’m playing catch up on messages and I hope to do my own year in review look back.  Just bear with me.  =)

For now, enjoy the games, we are………..grin
