I liked it more than I thought I would, I knew the basic story and thought to myself “what a dumb ass” and after watching the movie and reading wiki I believe the movie was faithful to the book, so now I think, “what a dumb ass”. I somewhat admire what he thought he was doing, but for someone who was supposedly book smart, he was a dumb ass.
I would love to just take off like he did, but reality is, I know more than “Joe Average” when it comes to survival, but I also know as much as I know, I wouldn’t last long in Alaska. There is no way I would go in without a shit load of supplies and the first thing I would do after getting shelter is getting more food and prepare it for long term use and I sure as fuck would not shoot a moose unless I was VERY ready for preparing the moose.
Sean Penn did a really good job with this as usual, so very talented.
But now I want to buy that damn D300 and lens and run off to Alaska…
